January 17, 200422 yr Hi,In the AS2004 user manual, here is the definition of Suppression Range : Suppression RangeWhen using Local Range Suppression, writes to stations within this range will be prevented at all times (except when on the ground). This prevents sudden changes of visible weather from occurring during updates. My question is why "except on the ground" ?When I'm on the ground in my real plane, I still look at the sky after having heard weather forecast. I still look at the sky because the atmosphere is the most important thing when you are in a plane. When you are on the ground you can decide not to go at the last time if you think that this big cumulonimbus is really going right here. It's what I can't do with AS2004 because very weird atmospheric phenomenons occur when I check my plane or when I call the tower for a departure. I'm sorry but when I see that I just want to exit FS2004.Suggestion : why don't you propose this option in a next release ? -> AS2004 will have the same behavior on the ground and in the sky ?Regards.
January 17, 200422 yr Use Local Range SuppressionPrevents any stations within your Local Suppression Range from being written during updates (when airborne). This prevents any sudden changes in weather conditions in the immediate area of your aircraft. The weather still updates appropriately beyond your Suppression Range, and will thus still maintain accuracy as you
January 17, 200422 yr Hi,I understood the interest of Local Suppression Range which is a very good idea. But my question was only about the ground. When my plane is on the ground, I don't understand why when I am on the ground the clouds suddenly appears or disappears during updates (it's absolutely unreal). The change of cloud is great when I fly but awfull when I stay on the ground. So I just suggested, in my previous post, to offer in a next release of AS2004 an option that allows to manage Local Suppression Range also when the plane is on the ground. Thanks.
January 19, 200422 yr But, do you think it's a good idea ?Why didn't you implemented it in the first release ?Why do you let the weather updates when on the ground ?I'm really afraid you don't take care to my notes and I'm not sure you will implement it in a next version. Can you give me your arguments ?Everything is great in AS2004 except that (each time clouds disappear when I'm on the ground preparing my flight, I exit AS2004 and load FS2004 weather).Regards.(A very faithful WXRE and FS user).
