The METAR for Corpus Christi, TX (per AS2004) this morning wasKCRP 171351Z 00000KT 1/8SM FG OVC001 17/17 A2971 RMK AO2 SLP059 After starting FS9 I was present with this lovely fogged in airport (first image). http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/58290.jpgIn less than ONE minue the weather had changed to the second image. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/58291.jpgI bet a lot of real-life pilots wished fog lifted that quickly! So what is it about my settings that is causing this? I am using the 3.14 version (registered) of FSUIPC.fsuipc.inihttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/58292.txtas2004.inihttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/58293.txt

Using Alpha2? Maybe because Global Write are on.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Yes on Alpha 2. Now, should Global Writes be on or off? I thought the recommended setting was ON. FWIW, I turned off all of the FSUIPC weather settings I had enabled (again, I thought I was only using the few that Damian said were OK to use) and tried it again. By that time the METAR had updated to 3sm vis, but the visibility in FS9 seemed to hold steady at that level and the ATIS was finally agreeing with the METAR. Previously the ATIS did not agree with the METAR (it was reporting 12sm vis), but the weather was more in line with the ATIS.

Yes global writes should be on. Hard for me to keep these things straight sometimes. Seeee, there are some things in FSUIPC that are adjusting things. Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
