February 26, 200422 yr Flying into LIRF few minutes ago, this is the situation:LIRF 262050Z 23014KT 9999 -RA SCT015 BKN070 13/10 Q0995 BECMG TSLIRF 261919 VRB05KT 8000 -RA SCT010 OVC040 620406 QNH2943INS BECMG 2021 05009KT 6000 -SHRASN BKN030 OVC050 610307 QNH2940INS BECMG 2223 05009KT 5000 -SHSN BKN030 OVC050 610307 QNH2938INS BECMG 1213 05009KT 6000 BR BKN030 OVC060 610307 QNH2940INS T05/15Z TM02/03Z TM02/03Z LIMITED METWATCH 2619 TIL 2703 RMK AUTO GENERATED AS2004Why does it snow????????
February 27, 200422 yr You are not giving much information about your setup other than the reported METAR and TAF. Assuming everything is working correctly in AS2004, you would see snow if you have TAF processing activated. The current light rain is predicted to change to mixed snow and rain in the following hour, and then turning to light snow showers in the hour follow that (+2 hours from the current). If you have TAF processing disabled, you should only be seeing light rain.
February 27, 200422 yr Also to ask: are you using system time or FS time?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
February 27, 200422 yr Sorry for not including all the info://AS2004 configuration file[General]WindowPosX = 5160WindowPosY = 5205DefaultWeatherFolder = D:fs2004ModulesActiveSky2004SuppressionCeiling = 6000SurfaceWindLimit = 10CloudLayerLimit = 10LocalSuppressionRange = 75MinimumVisibility = MaximumVisibility = IncreasedWake = TrueDisableWindsAloft = FalseForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = FalseOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseGlobalWrites = TrueVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = TrueUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueRouteWindSmoothing = FalseLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = FalseAutoGlobalWriteToggle = FalseCCWindsFix = FalseDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = TrueAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 5VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = 1TAFProcessing = TrueEnforceVisibilityLimits = FalseWakeTurb = TrueStartPaused = TrueUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONETill now everything worked perfectly, only snow was the unbelievable part...I use TAF processing AND System Time.Is there a way to let AS know i'm some hours forward of UTC?
February 27, 200422 yr I see from your .ini that you have auto time zone detection enabled, so there is nothing you need to do.Provided your system time zone is set correctly, AS2004 will know how many hors away from Zulu you are.Best RegardsMax (Bern, LSZB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
February 27, 200422 yr Thanks for the additional information! Turn OFF TAF Processing and see what happens.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
