February 29, 200422 yr My friend and I were flying KPHX to KDEN tonight - and we had massive slowdowns about 80 miles out.
February 29, 200422 yr Hi,Can you please tell us what you mean by massive slowdowns? Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
February 29, 200422 yr I have also noticed occasional slow downs that I don't remember from before B84. In my case, I'm locked at 20 FPS and occasionally (every 10-20 minutes, I would guess), I see the FPS drop to 10-12 for about 15-20 seconds. Then it goes back up to 20.I haven't really been able to correlate it with anything that AS2004 is doing and I've made so many other changes to my settings recently that I'm certainly not ready to blame AS2004 for it. It might just be a delay as FS2004 renders the distant clouds as I get closer to them. I don't know. I have found, though, that changes to other detail settings does not seem to prevent this behavior.Dave
February 29, 200422 yr Here is what happened - Flying KLAX to KDEN - at 1715GMTBoth of us started seeing a dropping of the frame rates on our PCs - We have flown the same route 50 times with the same setup.Around 100 miles out I noticed a TON of disk writing - and in the end it was constantly writing.I would have thought it was my setup - but my friend had the same exact thing happen. Thanks Jim -Richard Green
February 29, 200422 yr Hi Richard,Welcome to the forum. Now that's the kind of info we need! It looks like the constant read/write problem that users are having. Don't load a flight plan and see what happens. Damian and the team are working on a fix for the next release.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
February 29, 200422 yr OK, thanks for that. Another user is experiencing the same thing with no plan loaded. All of this just gives Damian more information to use.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
