March 14, 200422 yr I just did a flight from San Francisco Intl to Vancover Intl and it was awesome.I went onto CNN weather and saw that there was some heavy weather around the Vancouver area. Sounds like fun!I took off in my Fokker 100 in clear and pleasant conditions in San Francisco. Up until i got to Oregon all seemed fine. Then some big heavy clouds began to appear in the distance and ActiveRadar showed some heavy precipitation ahead. Not too long after i was being thrown around in very heavy cloud. It looked fantastic. There were several cloud layers and it gave a great impression of those days when there are huge banks of clouds in the sky. It also gave a great impression of height. I decended below the big dark clouds and saw there were overcast clouds further down and i could just make out some more clouds at an even lower altitute than that.As i began to descend into Vancouver i was being pummelled. Then the rain started lashing down. Visibility was not too great but i managed to safely land at Vancouver Intl in the pouring rain. As i taxied to the apron i looked up at the heavy overcast sky and thought what a flight!Try it out. I did the flight around 12pm GMT today. Get the weather and try the flight. I came into Vancouver from the South. Good luck.ActiveSky is awesome.
