Installed AS2004 and followed the instructions. The weather loads OK but when I get a few miles from the airport, the weather changes to scattered clouds and VU when it's supposed to be overcast. Now and then the visibility pops in and out of what it's supposed to be but what is most concerning is the panel for the plane disappears for a fration of a second at regular intervals. It may be every 8 seconds or up to every 18 seconds. I believe there may be weather changes as this happens. This does not happen unless I run AS2004. Any help?Michael

Hi Michael,For the panel flickering, make sure Render to Texture is turned OFF in FS.For visibility make sure Visibility Smoothing is checked ON and that you are using weather minimums in FSUIPC.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Thanks for the reply Jim.<>Visibility smoothing has always been on. Using FSUIPC, I clear all weather, then click the minimum weather button. I'll then start AS2004 and wait for the weather to load. Still getting the same thing. A few miles out from the airport (in MVFR) I suddenly pop into the blue with some scattered clouds. If I do a 180, it'll pop back to the loaded weather. I tried turning off "render to texture" a few times but the sim gives me an error before I can depart.(problem encountered and needs to close) so it appears I need to leave this box checked.Michael

Do you have the dx clouds from FSW? If yes, the you need to install the 32 bit set. Then Render to Texture can be unchecked. For vis. Please post your AS2004.ini file. Something is not quite right here!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Dosen't happen if I don't use AS2004.Michael

Hi,1. Do you have FSW clouds installed?2. Please update to V1.1 or even to MR2 beta.3. Turn global writes OFF.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

<<1. Do you have FSW clouds installed?2. Please update to V1.1 or even to MR2 beta.3. Turn global writes OFF.>>Jim. I turned global writes off. I'm using the default FS9 cloud textures. I seems the FS shutdowns occur when I had turned off render to texture so I need this function on. I downloaded and installed MR2 beta and tried again. The real weather this morning was 700 overcast, vis 1 1/2 sm but when I get 3 miles out the weather jumps to 10-15 miles vis and scattered to broken. 10 miles out and the vis increases even though I'm flying directly over a large airport (KEWR). It seems when the atis for the next area displays on FS my panel will disappear for a split second when the weather changes.Michael

Michael,For the visibility: Once you are beyond a 2 mile radius a station loses absolute control of the weather. Then it becomes a combination of stations. Also, visibility is for below a cloud deck. Once you pop through the clouds, visibility is going to change. What graphics card and driver are you using?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
