Maintenace Release

Featured Replies

Hello, I have the AS2004 and just upgraded to the ver 1.92. I see that there is a maintenance release and wondering if it applies to me. If so, I cant get it to run. It tells me that I must have AS2004 installed first. ???? I do:-wave I have the CD rom version so I'm not sure if this is applicable or not.Regards,

Hi James,It seems we are looking at two different programs here. ActiveSky wxRE 1.92 (Latest build) I think you have this one. This one was designed for FS2002 but has some special coding to help work with FS2004. This was a work around while the next program was being built for FS2004. Not all problems are solved while using this version with FS2004. ActiveSky2004 (Build 90 or MR1) ,(nickname is AS2004)This is the next program developed strictly for FS2004. The latest build has come a long way and is very stable. If you are using FS2004, I recommend purchasing this program when you can afford it. It is an investment well worth it. New upgrades are also on the way. Hope this helps,CYQRVincent

Hi Vincent,Oh boy what you say troubles me. I had purchased this CD becuase it said AS2004 where I purchased it. This is really upsetting that I received a 2002 upgraded product and I dont even own 2002. It is time to go and have words with who I purchased it from (unfortunatley a online company). I feel pretty cheated now. Thank you for the insight Vincent.Regards,

AS2004 Team,I was wondering what differences there are between the Ver 1.92 AS2004 and the current AS2004. Vincent

Hi James,If you have not done so, please go to the Damian's website http://www.hifisim.com/ and hit the products tab and read the differences between the two weather programs. You should find screen shots of what each product looks like. One is for FS2004 and one is for FS2002. Try and find out which one you have purchased.-If you have AS2004, then the MR1 upgrade is the one you want.-If you have ActiveSky wxRE, then upgrading to version 1.92 is the one you want.Since the MR1 upgrade is not installing for you and the 1.92 has installed, I would say you have ActiveSky wxRE. Although, your cd says AS2004, (this I do not understand). Please contact Damian at: [email protected] Jim should also be back on the forums in a day or two, he can help you sort this out as well.I will also email Damian on your behalf,Thanks,CYQRVincent

Thank you for your response Vincent,The cover of the CD says Active Sky 2002 up in the right hand corner, yet there is a sticker (yellow) that says, "Works, in FS2004 A Century of Flight"I have checked my receipt and it says that I had purchased AS2004. I have written the Vendor who I purchased it from hoping that they will honor the problem. That remains to be seen. Not sure what you guys could really do for me since it is a problem between the vendor and I, but I sure do appreciate your time in answering my questions. Look forward into Jim seeing this thread though, just in case this happens again.Regards,James

Hi James,I hope you will be able to work things out with the vendor. We have had a few reports of this. The CD cover is correct, the yellow sticker is correct, but the receipt is not too honest. Right now the only place to purchase is SimMarket. Please keep us updated.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Hi James,I did contact Damian, waiting for a reply. If you contact Damian at the email address I gave you, He can help you out, You have to remember that Damian got these people to sell his product in a secure fashion. So yes Damian can help you out and you are not alone. Please tell him what happened.Regards,CYQRVincent

Hi guys, Okay, thank you so much for all of your interests in this matter. I still have not heard from the vendor, but will give it another day to see what transpires. For now, I don't want to say who I bought it from to give them a chance to respond, however, it wasn't from Simmarket and it wasn't from Just Flight. BTW Just Flight leaflets, registration card, as well as advertisement for PC Pilot was inside the CD-ROM cover. I will e-mail Damian soonest. Thank you again!Best Regards,
