April 24, 200422 yr I find, as a matter of personal preference, that I don't use the route-based wind smoothing. I prefer the wind shifts to the "average" that ActiveSky creates to smooth out the changes. My question is therefore whether it is necessary to load the route into AS. Is the purpose of loading the route for wind-smoothing only, or does it serve other purposes, eg to load up weather area ahead of you? Does AS load the weather all around you anyway? I've founf before that even without a route loaded, I am clearly flying into different weather areas. I've got local range suppression enabled at 100nm.Cheers!Bruce.
