Entering Flight Plan with Active Radar

Featured Replies

Here's a problem... I usually create the flightplan in FSNAVigator, export, import, usual deal. However, if I want to manually enter a flightplan for weather to be accurate along my route, why is it I can only enter airports in the Weather Planning phase of AR? There are options for VOR NDB, and FIX, if I select for instance VOR for a vor that is identified as INX, I select search, nothing, I select update all, nothing. Any help or ideas? Thanks.Miklos

Hi,If I remember correctly, manually entering a flight plan in AR is disabled, other than airports, in the current version. The solution: Plan your flight, open it in FS, re-save it in FS, then open the plan in AR.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

That's what I figured, with that one issue, ActiveSky is still a great addition, even without that feature, however, would that be a possibility through upgrades later in the future?Miklos

Hi,Not really sure about the manual entering of a FP. A little more sure that work is being done to allow AR to directly import more than just a FS plan. In your case if AR would accept a FSNav plan whould that be good enough? In other words: Why does manual flight planning need to be a part of AR? Just trying to gain some user feedback for my own knowledge!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

The import function is fine. However, sometimes, I don't use a flight plan till I am in the air, not recommended for online I know, but fine if I just want to tool around the friendly and sometimes not so friendly skys (g). I guess that manual planning is not that important when it comes to AR. My experience so far with AR and ActiveSky has been 100%, the AR is very simple to use, and understand, now that I think of it, it's a very exceptional add on.Miklos

OK, fair enough. Something to consider: use AS Custom Fetch to pull up some airports along the way. Yes, you would get one at a time, but it would give you a general picture.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
