May 3, 200422 yr Hi all,I have got the problem where my weather is changing right in front of me ie clouds disapearing or appearing. It happens all the time not at any particular point in the flight, it is happening with Vatsim weather as I have been flying online (Not sure about offline). The last flight I did the weather code "031150Z" Not sure if it is because I have done something wrong in the setup so just in case here are my settings//AS2004 configuration file[General]WindowPosX = 2280WindowPosY = 6825DefaultWeatherFolder = D:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9ModulesActiveSky2004SuppressionCeiling = 2000SurfaceWindLimit = 10CloudLayerLimit = 5LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 50IncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = TrueOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = TrueUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueRouteWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueCCWindsFix = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = FalseAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = TrueZuluConversion = 1TAFProcessing = FalseEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = FalseStartPaused = FalseUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONEThis is version1.1 Build 90.Thanks for any help!Garry.
May 3, 200422 yr Hi Garry,Try to increase Supression Ceiling to 10000.Try to lower Local Supression Range to something equal to or less than your cloud draw distance in FS.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
May 8, 200422 yr Hi Jim,Thanks for the reply, I did as you said, has made no difference.Anything else I can try please?Garry.
May 8, 200422 yr I have the same problem flying yesterday online in Vatsim (but I don't think online vs offline makes any difference from what I can tell).I had a thunder cell over the rockies that appeared slowly, as expected, as I was going from Salt Lake to Denver. I flew around it and all of a sudden, the entire cell vanished within less than 1 minute, and I was still less than 10 miles from the cell. It appears that the build up is correct, but the "build out" is rather abrupt.I do have vis set to 50 miles in the scenery, and need to experiment offline with that. I've seen instant on/off based on updates and visibility settings, but this is close range, well within the visibility circle (about 10 miles radius). Certainly one would expect a thundercell not to vanish so quickly. I did have the route programmed in at the time, and processed, and I did have metar and TAF processing turned on (I seem to have much more complex and realistic weather with TAF on).But this is a small issue compared to the shifting winds that I FINALLY figured out with the right settings...Thanks for a great product,Cheers
May 8, 200422 yr Garry,Try an Online no VATSIM flight. I am trying to narrow down the problem.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
May 11, 200422 yr Hi Jim,Sorry for the delay, anyway still no better I am not sure what to try next! I have tried both online(with/without Vatsim) and also offline, but with the same results.Cheers, Garry.
May 11, 200422 yr What are your weather settings in FS, including Dynamic change?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
May 15, 200422 yr Hi Jim,After your last post I went through the tutorial again and completely set up from the start, not sure what it was but it seems to be OK, thanks for the support!Cheers, Garry.
