BIG! Active sky WXre improvement!!!!

Featured Replies

Are you still using FS2002? Are you fed up with those overcasts with blue horizons? I need some help from Active sky WXre developers or from somebody who knows how to change some things in that program! Here are two images from FS2002. The first overcast made by Active sky WXre program (with function, that reduces visibility to 3 miles, when there is any overcast layer)And the second is made by me - it's very simple, i've reduced the visibility to 3m (as the WXre program does) and added one 1800ft whick BROKEN (7/8) clouds layer from ground to the xxxx altitude (=ground level + 1800ft), and from the xxxx altitude one overcast layer. The overcast layer must be as low as possible that you can see it's texture and the broken clouds layer adds some 3D effect as in FS2004.So I want to change a little bit that function that reduces visibily to 3m when there is any overcast layer below 3000ft. I want, that this function reduced visibility to 3m when there is ANY overcast layer, and make that things that I've desribed before (1800ft broken layer, add overcast layer to 1800ft above ground.....). Is it possible to make that little change in the program? P.S:sorry for my english and bad picture quality...... in reality it looks MUCH MUCH better!!

One more thing........ the BROKEN clouds layer should be at least 150 ft above ground level (so 1650ft thick), otherwise there is no precipitation visibile....

And do you think, that he will do it for me (and for all FS2002 fans)? - The thing, why the FS2002 clouds don't look so good as in FS2004 is, that they look 3D only when they are wery near. One more thing that would improve FS2002 weather is, that wxRE added one more 2500ft thick cloud layer cca 1000ft above ground level. For example, wxRE downloads actual weather (4500ft Scattered 4/8, 8000ft Broken 6/8) from METAR, imports it into FS2002 and then ALWAYS adds one more 2500ft thick cloud layer in 1000ft ABOVE GROUND LEVEL that makes 3D effect. In this example it would be Broken 6/8 (not because it's the higher one, but because there are more clouds 6/8 > 4/8 ..... if you understand) ;-)So look at the screenshots..... the 2nd is improved by me.And one more thing, it would be also nice, when the aircraft passes above 10 000ft, if wxRE could add one more cloud layer (the same layer as before) always 1000ft below the aircraft (if it's possible) - see the 3rd screenshot.I know that it's lot of things to do, but i would also help you if i could.

P.S: the cloud layers that makes 3D effect looks better when they are 5000ft thick
