May 12, 200422 yr Hi all,I guess everybody already knows that the item "Wake turbulence simulation" in ActiveSky 2004 (build 90) options will give you problems if left on, right? It took me a while to figure it out. No matter what airplane you fly, if you have this option turned on and happen to follow an aircraft on final, your airplane will go upside down if you encounter its wake. Are they already working on it to fix this issue? Or is it something completely new nobody ever heard about? If so, can somebody else maybe do a test to verify this issue?I only have AS2004 as an add in. No FSUIPC.If you need more info let me know. Mauxus
May 12, 200422 yr Hi,If you do not have FSUIPC, even the free version, then AS is not interacting with FS. FSUIPC is a requirement to run AS properly.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
May 12, 200422 yr Hi Jim, thank you for the reply.I tried both with FSUIPC and without but the problem is still there. I should've mention it yesterday, my mistake. The problem first appeared with a quite old installation of FS9 (it had FSUIPC). So I removed it and reinstalled but this time without installing FSUIPC. The problem was still there. I even went as far as doing a fresh installation of Win XP (for other problems too) and all the software but nothing has changed. You can look at the full topic here: ---> http://www.iemit.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=615 <---. There's also a video of the problem you can take a look at.You mean that I am the only who "complained" about this thing?
May 12, 200422 yr Hi!What Jim was trying to tell you is that if you still have the problem WITHOUT FSUIPC, there is no way that it's AS2004's fault, since AS cannot possibly send any data to FS without any FSUIPC version. The only way you can end up with AS2004, but without FSUIPC is to delete it from your modules folder after installing AS. The AS installer will install an unregistered FSUIPC, if FSUIPC.dll is not present int FS modules folder. The effect you describe when wake turbulence is left on is a know issue, as far as I know, but I can't really tell you whether it can be fixed or not. If a fix is possible, I am sure Damian is working on it for one of the next updates to AS2004.Best RegardsMax (Bern, LSZB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
May 12, 200422 yr Also, there is the Option in build 90 to turn off wake turbulence. I wonder too if you have extreme wake turbulence checked on also?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
May 13, 200422 yr Hi Jim,right now I have both of them off and everything is ok. But when the problem first appeared I only had checked "wake Turbulence simulation". I never checked the 2nd one. It's funny because I don't remember having this problem with the previous build of AS2004. Or maybe it just never happened that I flew behind another airplane on final with the previous build.Anyway, it's a great piece of software and I can't fly without it anymore. I was just trying to figure out if it was a common problem or something was wrong with my setup.Thank you.
May 13, 200422 yr Glad you go it!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
