May 12, 200422 yr Hello Active Sky team!I still notice that winds-aloft servers don't work already since a couple of weeks! Can you make a prediction on when this will be fixed?Greetings,Hakan
May 12, 200422 yr Hi,On Tuesday the server was working for a time I and thought things were fixed. You can write NOAA and ask when their server will be fixed. I have not heard anything!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
May 12, 200422 yr don't get me wrong, i don't want to put the blame on you. It stands for quality that the programm uses NOAA-data, but on the other hand I don't wanna bug NOAA with "important" things like "gaming-waether". But your idea is good, maybe you have a web-adress for contacting them so that I don't have to search a long time for the right person to contact? (will publish results inthis forum, if successful)greetings,Hakan

May 15, 200422 yr Thx for the address, I tried it out just right after but no reply so far, I am sorry!Greetings,Hakan
May 15, 200422 yr Hi Hakan,Are you still getting errors? I tried Friday and had winds aloft data and just tried again and got a good result. For everyone: Damian has been aware of the server problems and is working on a fix. I'll leave the details for him to share, when things are ready.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
May 15, 200422 yr Hello Jim!I am sorry, but yes! But I must admitt that I do testing without FS running, just to save loading time...but I get no winds aloft, still reads "xxx not availiable". Maybe this is because I have FS not running? I tried it also with FS running as usual with no result! On the other hand: I tried FSBuilt2 (Flightplanner using AktiveSky winds aloft data) and worked out an atlantic flight and it successfully incorporated winds_aloft data, maybe there's something wrong with my system? I think about uninstalling and re-installing AS!Anyway, thx for replying.Greetings,Hakan
May 15, 200422 yr No, I just tried and got no winds either. That darn server is not working again. Again, Damian is aware and is working on a possible fix.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
May 23, 200422 yr Hi there, there haven't been any posts on this for a while so I've got the problem that I don't know if the absence of winds aloft in my sim is due to my system or a continuing server problem. Is the server still down?Would it be possible to have some kind of indicator somewhere, so that we might know when there is a server problem or not? (:) If there already is such an indicator, then would someone mind pointing me in the right direction?)Thanks,Tom
May 23, 200422 yr That's a good idea!Last time I fly (2 days ago), I had consistent aloft data, however, the briefing screen was still showing "winds aloft not avail", so I don't know if it's because I fly outside USA or if there's no data avail,I pass this question on...Greetings,Hakan
May 23, 200422 yr Hi All,Please see my pinned topic about the wxRE update because it should make this a moot point.I can check NOAA if the whole weather system goes down, but not just the winds as far as I know. The wx Briefing screen is still going to show no data avail.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
