May 23, 200422 yr Hello,I cannot find the activeradarconnectors.txt and I need the procedure for installing Active Radar on the FS PC. Right now eveyrthign works with AS2004 installed on the client. I can't see any reason to have to install it over again on the FS (server) machine, i.e. just the AR stuff. Thanks in advance, Ron McLeod - CYEG
May 23, 200422 yr ActiveRadar Connector for WideFS ActiveSky2004 UsersConnector v2WideFS Users:In order to have AS2004 and ActiveRadar run on different machines, some special installation steps must be followed. This installation guide assumes that ActiveRadar will be installed on the FS9 machine while AS2004 is installed on the WideFS remote PC. This DOES NOT APPLY to non-WideFS users. This installation also assumes that you are familiar with networking 2 PCs, have WideFS installed and working with the FS system, and have mapped a drive from the FS PC to the WideFS PC. If you have not yet done this, read the WideFS installation texts for more help. We cannot provide networking support.Installation1) Install ActiveSky2004 on the WideFS remote PC, in any folder, using the normal installation setup.exe program. This will normally be C:InstallDir.2) On the FS PC, map a drive to the root drive on the WideFS remote computer where AS2004 is installed. For help with mapping drives, see Windows Help (F1) from the Windows Explorer application.3) On the FS PC, use Windows Explorer to browse THROUGH the mapped drive to the ActiveSky2004 Folder. If you mapped drive F: and used the default folder, for example, then browse to F:InstallDirModulesActiveSky2004. Find the ActiveRadarConnector2.exe program and run it (double-click).4) Follow the step-by-step installation wizard to properly install and configure ActiveRadar on the FS PC.5) The connector program will automatically verify all settings and confirm proper installation. Once complete, you can now run ActiveRadar within FS2004 and it will properly access the data from AS2004.If the ActiveRadar FS2004 installation verification fails for any reason, you will need to manually copy the ActiveRadar.dll file and ActiveRadar folder (from the AS2004 installModules folder) to your FS9Modules folder. For support, please visit our forum at http://www.avsim.com (Forums, ActiveSky) or contact us at [email protected] you for using ActiveSky2004!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Anyway, I had no choice but to give up on AR, but I cannot find an uninstall routine. I'd like to remove it from the FS (server) PC.Ron McLeod - CYEG

You wrote>that you got AR to work and yet you want to delete it???>>Hope this helps,>Jim>Actually, I don't, but my USB MS Natural 2nd edition keyboard has a problem with it. Don't ask me why, but it just locks up? I managed to find your solution by just looking a little deeper and obviously removed the .dll and the AR folder. Thanks for your reply, the software is otherwise working just fine. Do you recommend running the Beta of MR2.Ron McLeod - CYEG
May 24, 200422 yr "Do you recommend running the Beta of MR2."As soon as it's released for testing I will! The new pinned topic is for wxRE not AS2004.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
