Having trouble with destination winds

Featured Replies

Hi Actitivesky guys,I'm having a tough time getting my destination winds to stabilize when I'm in my arrival terminal area and was wondering if anyone can offer any advice. Specificially what's happening is my destination terminal winds don't seem to reconcile with the reported surface winds on the Flightwatch feature. For example, on a final approach I will experience crosswinds, variable shifts, tailwinds, ect. It's as if there are erratic gust conditions on every approach I make no matter what airport I'm at.I'm currently running the latest MR2 beta with FSUPIC 3.30 (unregistered) but I have been experiencing destination winds flucuations with the MR1 release as well. I'm not sure what's going on and would appreciate any advice anyone can offer. Here's my Activesky .ini file://AS2004 configuration file[General]WindowPosX = 3900WindowPosY = 3090DefaultWeatherFolder = C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9ModulesActiveSky2004SuppressionCeiling = 10000SurfaceWindLimit = 10CloudLayerLimit = 10LocalSuppressionRange = 80MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 9LastPlanFolder = NONEIncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseAutoConvertPlanFiles = FalseForceDestinationWeatherZone = TruePreventIcing = TrueOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseGlobalWrites = TrueVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = FalseDisableGroundUpdates = TrueUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = FalseFSUIPCWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = FalseAutoGlobalWriteToggle = FalseRainWithTS = FalseDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = TrueAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 15VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = -5TAFProcessing = FalseEnforceVisibilityLimits = FalseWakeTurb = TrueStartPaused = TrueUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONE----------------------'Thank you!

I wanted to mention that I do specify departure and destination airports via the flightplan interface :)

Thanks Jim, glad to see that you guys were already aware of this situation. I'll try the limit surface winds advice.
