August 17, 200421 yr There are 10 files in the Effects folder for lightning. I would say that adjusting some of the parameters would effect the rates, the same as others have done for becon lighting. Do you really feel that there is too much lightning? In the air, over a storm it seems to happen alot in real life.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
August 24, 200421 yr Depends where you live.I grew up in California, where lightening was a rare event even duringan intense storm. We'ld often have storms that lasted for hours andhad only one or two strikes locally noticable. I recall once a stormcame through with multiple strikes per minute, and there was a crowdof people on a hillside watching it in the distance. Now in Texas lightening is everpresent. During a storm it can be asintense as multiple strikes per second. The diffrence is striking.Only once in the past 10 years do I recall an intense rainfalloccuring without any lightening.
