September 5, 200421 yr Hi guys,I am really a litlle confused about how dynamic weather works when I am flying in the past.I live in Germany, which is 2 hours behind UTC. Now I want to fly in a country that is 6 hours behind UTC. However it is already dark there in real time, and I want to make a flight during the day. So I set UTC 6 hours back in the sim. What are my options when I want dynamic weather? How should I set the boxes Realtime/FSTime, UTC conversion and which archive should I download?Someone can help me out?Alex
September 5, 200421 yr Hi Alex,Do you want to fly in Offline Mode or Online Mode? Depending on that, then I will be happy to help.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
September 5, 200421 yr Either way. But when I am flyig in the "past" what sense does online mode make. This is one of the questions actually. What difference does it make in that case?Thx,Alex
September 5, 200421 yr OK,Turn Off Use System Time, turn TAF processing On, and download the archive that best matches up to the time that you will use in FS. Conversion option should be left alone.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
September 5, 200421 yr Thx a lot, I'll try this. Does ActiveSky use the TAFs which were issued at the archives initial UTC in that case, or are the "TAFs" AS uses in an archive the METARs that were issued at a later time? I hope somebody can even understand what I am asking :-), sound pretty weird.I guess the latter would give more comprehensive results.Alex
September 5, 200421 yr I understood ya!! The TAFs are actual TAFs that were issued, not older METARs converted into TAFs.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
