ActiveSky 1.92 wxRE always snowing?

Featured Replies

Hi All,I'm running ActiveSky wxRE 1.92 with FS9.Almost all the time whenever I position at Calgary International (CYYC), the METAR from wxRE is always dynamic and it is always overcast and snowing. :(Sure, we have crappy weather in Calgary, but at least it doesn't snow (much) from June-September.Then about 15 minutes later, once airborne, wxRE picks up METAR for a little one-strip airport and it's not dynamic and it's more indicative to what I would expect for summertime.Any ideas anyone?Corey.

Excuse my ignorance, but how does one tell if you are in Online Mode or not?As I mentioned, the CYYC metar is DYNAMIC, which I read means the metar is very old, but still online irght? And the second airport a little later on is not dynamic. Doesn't that imply that I'm online? Thanks!Corey.

OK,1. Start up wxRE.2. Let wxRE finish starting.3. Click on the Options button at the bottom of the main screen.4. On the wxRE Options screen is the little circle for Online/Live filled in or is the little circle for Offline/Preset filled in?Here is the METAR that was active when I wrote this:CYYC 072000Z 10003KT 20SM FEW011 BKN021 OVC039 11/08 A3007 RMK SC1SC4SC2 SLP202Please, please, please don't take this next question the wrong way! But, did you read the wxRE manual? I am tring to get ongoing feedback from users about a number of things and our manual is just one of them. Please help us improve our total package! Please post back when you get a chance.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

It was in Offline/Preset mode. That explains it, so I changed it. And no, I did not look at the manual (I know, I know...), but the link was broken to the pdf file in the Start-Menu. And (excuses, excuses) I didn't have room to install Acrobat - it's an old computer with a small drive. But it appears my question was answered. I'll take the PDF file into work when I get back from vacation and print it out. Thanks for the response!Corey.

Hi Corey,I am glad you got things working correctly. I understand about the manual and I hoped it wasn't because the manual wasn't clear enough. Please post again if you ever need help.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
