September 12, 200421 yr I guess that it's normal that the weather stations aren't able to submit (or survive!) any data in hurricane conditions?Yesterday there was only old weather from Jamaica, and now the weather from the Cayman islands (MWCR) is reporting 18kts winds (110300z), becoming: 1923 34025G35KT which is also way to low. Those poor people have other priorities than repairing weather equipment right now, but I was just curious what the METAR data would be in such conditions. Wanne.
September 12, 200421 yr Hi,You are correct. Jamaica got pounded so no reports there.Here is my latest TAF from MWCR, looks pretty accurate to me:MWCR 112100Z 120024 03035G50KT 5000 FEW20 BKN080 TEMPO 0024 +SHRA BKN018 TEMPO 0024 1000 +TSRA SCT016CB BECMG 0405 020V340120G135KT 3000 OVC018 BECMG 1516 270V220110G125KTHope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
September 12, 200421 yr Hi,well, I guess that we won't be seeing lots of data tomorrow from MWCR if this part of the metar is accurate:BECMG 1516 270V220110G125KT :-eekregards,Wanne.
