Overcast Clouds and Icing Question

Featured Replies

Hello, I am new to AS2004, read the manual, d/l'd the latest MR1 release, and am having a couple of problems. I tried doing a forum search but I get something like 200+ hits and I don't see any posts in the search results window. 1) I cannot seem to get overcast clouds to save my life. I have looked at the AS2004 main window and confirmed OVC in the metar line (I have gone to airports which had OVC from 010 to 050), yet it seems the most I get is few or scattered clouds. I have checked and unchecked the Limit Cloud Layer feature and I have Overcast Enhancement checked. I was assuming the local time might play a factor. I have TAF Decoding and System Time checked. Does changing the time in FS, mess up the weather generation? I set the time to the current Zulu time and still didn't get any overcast clouds. 2) For icing, should both icing options (random icing in clouds and limit icing) be UNchecked in FSUIPC? Robert Williamson

Hi Robert,1. Make sure 3D clouds are at 100% and cloud coverage is maximum in FS. Also, uncheck TAF processing.2. Random icing in clouds can be On, but limit icing should be Off.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
