November 13, 200421 yr I understand that archived weather is saved 4 times per day. What do you get with the download, six hours' worth of METAR and TAF, or just the METARs and TAFs at the time of the archiving? Say I want to start a daylight flight at 0700Z at a location where it is impractical to do so using realtime online updates (it's 1 am local time, and the last thing I need is to get jet lag from a flight sim :)), but I want realistic weather for the time of day. Do I need to turn TAF processing on to get changes in weather over the course of a 4-hour flight, or does the archived weather contain enough information to set the weather based on METARs alone? I've shied away from enabling TAF processing up to now, though I couldn't really say why. Perhaps because it is not enabled in the default settings.Mark Kuebeler
November 13, 200421 yr Hi Mark,1. You get the METARs and TAFs of the archive time.2. And, yes then it is best to enable TAFs.You have a good handle on the situation!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
