December 30, 200421 yr Does Activesky fix this problem:MS apparently made some updates to weather.dll, but did not fix the 9999-issue with metric METARs.There is a fix file on fsfreeware.com:This is a fix for the metric METAR bug aka "fog bug" in FS9.FS9 has a bug in weather.dll, which causes it to interprid "9999" as a maximum visibility rather than "visibility of over 10km"Usually this happens when there are some clouds in the area, whereas during CAVOK conditions visibility usually is over 10km.In USA and Canada there has been no problem since FS9 interprids "10SM" correctly. (and anywhere else where visibility in metar is in miles)INSTALLExtract the "weather.dll" file to flight simulators "modules" folder and replace the existing version.(However you might want to backup the default "weather.dll" from modules folder prior to replacing it with a fixed version)IS THIS FIX NECESSARY OR HAS ACTIVESKY RESOLVED THIS ISSUE???
December 30, 200421 yr Hi,I suggest not replacing the file. AS does handle the 9999 vis. as non-maximum vis.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
