Weird "one-off" problem

Featured Replies

Hi!I have been using ActiveSky 4.5 for several months without any problems. I like it very much. The other day I installed the update. While positioned at a gate at Inhambane, Mozambique (FQIN) with the retrieved weather showing "... 9999 sct020 bkn035..." it initially generated very plausible conditions, but within about a minute, the frame rates plummeted to about 3.5 fps, the cloud reached ground level, the runway lights came on and then all the "non background" textures (such as trees, buildings and runway) turned white.Suspecting a major corruption somewhere, I restarted FS2004 and ActiveSky, but it did the same thing. I then installed build 175 and it did the same thing again. I tried restarting the machine, but it did not help either. Eventually, I had to turn ActiveSky off to complete my flight to Beira. Everything was fine with ActiveSky off.Since then, I have used ActiveSky again for every flight and not had any problems - even if I return to Inhambane with the same flight plan and similar weather conditions.I don't expect anyone to do anything about this, because it is not reproducable, but I thought I would mention it in case someone has an explanation. I certainly found it interesting.regards,Alan.
