Build 192 & Great Site to Check Weather Accuracy

Featured Replies

I don't know if it was the weather just changing quite radically here in Kansas or if ActiveSky was just not recieving proper report tonight after I downloaded the 192 build but I was getting rain when there was nothing showing on the radar.. Near a storm and I don't have Extend Thunderstorm layers on..I also noticed that their were alot of red and yellow of the storm I was flying in and the radar now on active sky was labeling a medium to heavy thunderstorm as blue like it was light...Could have been just a not so good report going on this evening don't know..Oh and does anyone know why It will leave a blank hole right in the middle of the storm sometimes? Is that just lack of a metar pick up or what? Also for the best realism should I leave TAF reports off?Oh and here is the link to the site that will give you weather. All you have to do is enter the airport code and walla you have the weather for that area cool weather link. Oh also It will tell you the ceiling for that area and the visibility.I figured I would share this with all the fellow sim pilots out here..Good to check weather accuracy for ActiveSky or any other programs I think. All you have to do is list the Airport code and hit enter and you will get the weather for that area...Example KORD & enter wallla weather..http://www.wunderground.com/US/Region/US/2xpxRadar.html

Hi,Remember that our data sources are different, so exact METARs may not happen. OK to check for general information though! Not sure what you are saying about the rains. You say that you had nothing on Radar, but alot of red and yellow. Those colors are from the Radar and mean moderate to heavy rain. The "black holes" can be from lack of data or lack of stations.TAFs should be On unless flying with an online service such as VATSIM.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
