Error message upon first use

Featured Replies

I got an error message upon my first use of ASV. I bought the upgrade - ran it - it found AS2004.5 - ran the installer - it finished - I chose not to run it after installing it. I then uninstalled AS2004.5 upgrade, then AS2004, then Active Radar (I don't use it anyways), then I went to run ASV and a window popped up - please wait while Windows configures ASV - bars go across the bottom... waits - starts again - then this message comes up http://ca.geocities.com/[email protected]/errorasv.JPGI can't find the file so cancel - then it searches again - I had to end the process b/c it wouldn't stop.I'm assuming restarting - uninstalling and reinstalling would be the way to go. I have to head out for about an hour - I will try reinstalling then, just thought I'd mention this in case this becomes a common problem.

Hello Jim,I uninstalled and reinstalled and it worked fine. I figure it could be one of two things - either when I uninstalled AS2004.5 and Activeradar it messed something up, or MS Antispyware wouldn't allow the registry writes. MS Antispyware normally asks about registry changes mind you, and nothing showed up. Off to try it out, thanks!
