ASV Wide FS Question

Featured Replies

I have ASV with Wide FS loaded on a remote computer. This computer is a laptop that also has FS 9 on it that I use for a mobile FS system. The install went well, it backed up the Remote system FS 9 texture folder. I assume I need this to happen on the FS 9 Main system. I have mapped a drive on the remote computer to the FS 9 folder on the main FS computer. How does the cloud textures get copied from the WideFS Remote system to the Main FS computer? Do they have to be copied manually?I just need some clarification? Also I had Flight Environment installed on both systems, what is the impact on Flight Environment's cloud textures? Thanks!Barry

Hi BarryHow does the cloud textures get copied from the WideFS Remote system to the Main FS computer? Do they have to be copied manually? I can help you with that as i have the same setup. In the ASV.INI file point the FS9Path to your main fs computerie FS9Path = main pc namefsfolder nameeg FS9Path = Virtual-01Flight Simulator 2004 (my path)Ensure the folder has shared accessHope this helps Tony

Thanks Tony!I changed the setting.. What about Flight Environment textures? I probably need to back them up on the Main FS and then experiment with the ASV AE version. Thanks again for the tip!Barry

Hmmm, Tony, would this work for multiple pc's?Is it possible to add 2 FS9paths? One sending to my main pc, and my 2nd pc?thanks,Jason

Hi Jason>would this work for multiple pc's?Really dont know about that, however I dont think adding multiple paths will work.Someone in a previous post stated that ASV was writing to all thier networked PC's thru WideFS.If you are using Wideview to link your second PC then does not that program copy the wx over from the PC that ASV IS writing to.Not quite sure of your setup, if that doesnt make sense sorry.CheersTony

Thanks,I tried adding another path, and it didn't work.My view pc, doesn't have widefs, just wideview as I can't get any widefs to work on it as it runs fs9And it doesn't look like wideview is copying the wx to the view pc. Still using fs9 textures. Looks kinda crappy when I am in the air.. nice clouds on main pc... and views not showing anything. To bad we couldn't run asv through sb3.. that might work.thanks again.
