July 5, 200520 yr I was about 4 miles from KSOV where the decoded ASV indicated clouds were Overcast 9000. Outside it just displayed scattered clouds. Flying PANC PADQ, at FL120.9000 overcast says that I shouldn't be able to see the ground if I am above 9000 feet? Correct? Is ASV updating the visible weather correctly? My arrival weather and clouds at PADQ from 8000 - 2100 seemed to be more realistic. Thanks!Barry
