Short stutter when generating ActiveRadar Data

Featured Replies

Hi,Everytime when ASV, which is running on a second computer via WideFS, downloads new data and comes to the "ActiveRadar" message, the screen of my FS9 computer gets black for a tenth of second and the sound is shortly interrupted. Then everything runs fine again. But as you regularily update weather this happens at every update cycle.Any idea about this? As my FS9 PC is quite powerful and I have constant framerates of 20-40 depending on scenery without stuttering it would be fine, if I can get rid of this phenomenon. As I don't use ActiveRadar I have deactivated it on my FS9 PC by moving the DLL to a backup directory to get better frames. Might this be the reason ?RegardsReinhard

Hi Jim,It is not the panel flickering. The whole screen is for a short period blank (let's say 1 to 2 10th of a second) and the sound is off for the same period. Then everything continues as normal. It makes no difference setting the RenderToTexture flag in this case.Best regardsReinhard

Hi,Latest video drivers (OMEGA drivers for ATI X800)AntiVir (www.antivir.de)Never had thes problems before. I'll make some additional tests with the RenderToTexture parameter this weekend to be sure, that this makes no difference.RegardsReinhard

Hi,I want to give you a short feedback. This weekend I have done some flights with the default Baron 58 and fiddled with the PanelAsTexture and RenderToTexture parameters in the display section of the fs9.cfg file. It seems, that RenderToTexture=0 gives the best results. The sound stutters and the black screen disappeared. I'll try this with other aircrafts in the next days. Do you have any idea, which side effects this setting might have with an ATI X800. FPS stayed nearly at the same level.RegardsReinhard
