September 20, 200520 yr Hi ASV Team,Thanks for a super product that adds to all of our enjoyment of MSFS. I would not think of not having this Add-On. I have an issue that I have not been able to resolve in ASV, though I do not believe I noticed it in previous versions. I can not seem to untune the radio from picking up the weather. Once ASV is started, even if the Master Switch has not yet been turned on in the aircraft, the current weather messages broadcast. I seems to make no differnce if the Com 1 or Com 2 are tuned to 122.00 or not. I would think it would only broadcast when the radios were on, the radios on were set to the 122.00 and would cease broadcasting once that frequency was switched to standby. The broadcasts continue even after the plane is shut down until ASV is closed.Any ideas where I may have messed up a setting?I am using the latest version of FSUIPC.DLL and flying a FSD International Piper Navajo Panther. Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions.Warmest Regards,Bob
September 20, 200520 yr Hi,Thanks for the words! Are you saying that the loop keeps playing or just the last loop? Once a loop starts it must finish, but after that, a new loop should not start if you have untuned 122.00. Please let us know!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
September 21, 200520 yr Hi Jim,Thanks so much for the response.I have been tinkering more in seeking my own solution and discovered a few things. The "always on" for the Active Sky weather messages only happens when I shut down the plane with the radios tuned to 122.00. The shut down is normal and by procedure, but is as though ASV does not recognize that avionic and battery have been switched off and continue to message. As I frequently Save after full shut down to continue from that point, the weather messages start up as soon as I start ASV even before batt and avionics are switched on. Also in this case the active and standby switching has no effect. The messages continue. I have found a partial solution. If I switch the 122.00 to standby and then Save, I can start up and shut down with no weather messages. Further no messages play unless I make 122.00 active on Com 1 0r Com 2. Like you said they play until that message is complete though I think it would be more realistic if they cut off immediately. (But that is okay)I say a partial solution as the playing of messages seems to ignore the Selection Swithched that allow "Com 1 Audio Selection", "Com 2 Audio Selection", or "Both Com 1 and Com 2 Audio Selection". When Com 2 is tuned to 122.00 and Com 1 is tuned to something else, switching to "Com 1 Audio Selection" which should now only play Com 1, the weahter message still broadcasts as though both Com 1 and Com 2 had been selected.Any ideas on setting I migh look at to fix this? Thanks again for your time and support.Warmest Regards,Bob
September 21, 200520 yr Hi,Try this:Make sure that both Com 1 and 2 are not tuned to 122.0Then let the last loop finish, then shut down.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
September 27, 200520 yr Hi Jim,I tried this a few different ways to explore the results. Following your suggestion, no messages play unless I make 122.00 active on Com 1 or Com 2. Like you said they play until that message is complete though I think it would be more realistic if they cut off immediately. The playing of messages ignores the Selection Swithched that allow "Com 1 Audio Selection", "Com 2 Audio Selection", or "Both Com 1 and Com 2 Audio Selection". When Com 2 is tuned to 122.00 and Com 1 is tuned to something else, switching to "Com 1 Audio Selection" which should now only play Com 1, the weather message still broadcasts as though both Com 1 and Com 2 had been selected. I played with the switching and nothing happens. Any chance this may be addressed in an update. In my ideal virtual world, it would be nice if the messages were "killed" as soon as untuned to, deselected or the avionics were turned off. Thanks again for your time and support.Warmest Regards,Bob
