October 9, 200520 yr I made a mistake (I believe) when I started the ASV/ASE install on the machine with WideFS client on it and pointed it to my FS9 directory on my machine that is running FS9. I took a looong time to install (because I have a slower machine that is running the client). So now I think I have to install it from my FS9 machine and point it to my machine with the WideFS client.Am I correct so far?Ok. When I try to uninstall it from the Add/Remove programs on my (slower) machine, I hangs at roughly 65 percent. Is that normal? Can I just remove the entry from my Add/Remove Programs and just install it or will it ruin everything? Thanks.
October 9, 200520 yr Hi,No, you cannot install "backwards".If it is installed correctly why do you want to remove it already?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
October 9, 200520 yr Hi, Jim.I now have it installed on my FS9 computer, but I want to offload it to another computer using WideFS. The program is still installed on my FS computer. I started a new install on my second computer (the one with WideClient). I shared the FS9 folder and mapped it to Z:. I started the install of ASV and specified Z as the install/FS directory. It took a while, but it installed finally. But then I realized, after reading the read-me again, that I should start the install on my FS computer. Am I wrong about that?If I'm right, then I want to uninstall ASV that I did on my WideClient (second) computer. When I tried to do that, though, it got stuck at 65% and never moved, so I cancelled it. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.
October 9, 200520 yr Hi,No you did things right. ASV must be installed on the Wclient machine. If anything you can now uninstall on your FS machine. Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
