November 5, 200520 yr I just bought the ASV yesterday had my first flight and have to say I am very pleased with it at the moment, but I wanted to know if it's possible to delete some stuff...??I downloaded and installed the 512x512 textures which I believe I correctly transformed to MipMaps and instructed ASV to install them in FS, and it looked very nice with no performance loss on my PC.I however am running short on HD Space on my FS0 drive so I though if there was some way to remove the other types which I choose not to use like 256x256 and the 64x64, I tried before deleting it to put it in zip, but as soon as I have done it upon ASV startup I got some error that some stuff wasn't found, obviously program needed some thing from the 256x256 directory that I compressed, so I just extracted it back to original and left it alone all was fine.Well bottom line is a question if there is any way I could delete (compress) some of the stuff in the 64x64 and 256x256 directories.I already compressed the ASV's FS9 texture back up folder, didn't seem like ASV cared for this so I left it compressed seems to be all OK, might always decompress it if I wanted back the poor looking FS9 default clouds... why I don't know... :) (saved about 70MB = few aircraft)Thanks for any helpPS: really nice first flight, nothing to complain about ... yet... :)Andy
November 5, 200520 yr Hi Andy,Thanks for the purchase and the kind words. This is something we all run into at some point; out hard drive is almost full and we do what we can to create more space!I'll tell you though, from experience, it is easier to buy a second hard drive then mess around with compressing stuff and deleating stuff. But everyone is different, so I can suggest that the 64 and 256 clouds are default and should be left. You can try to compress their contents but I am not sure how much space you will create.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
