November 9, 200520 yr Hi,anybody else having weather wierdness around Key West?Seems every flight heading in from the North, about 20 or so miles out the vis goes really down. Basically thick haze although atis reports max vis. Then as I turn base onto rnway 9, the vis instantly clears. Most times it stays clear, sometimes it drops out but turning south again, the haze always jumps right back in.Ive occasionally noticed this kind of behavior but it seems to be everytime around the Keys.Latest ver, using FE DXT3 textures.
November 9, 200520 yr Hi,Any other stations in the area? I don't think I will have time tonight to try and tomorrow I have parent-teacher conferences. If you can give me a few days I can check on this.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
November 11, 200520 yr Hi,Checked it out tonight. Look and see if KNQX is the closest weather station after leaving the area. I flew North and that station was the closest station and did have HZ in the METAR. See if your experience is the same. Thanks!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
November 11, 200520 yr Im not sure what you are asking? No matter what the weather is when I approach KEYW,approx 5 miles out, the thick haze pops in dropping vis down to like 3 miles at best. A turn north and it instantly clears up.
November 11, 200520 yr Hi,OK not a problem:1. When this happens for you what is the closest weather station?2. What does that station's METAR read?3. I just found the opposite: KEYW was clear as it should be and North of the airport was haze just as it should be.4. Are you using FS9 Haze and Fog in ASV?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
November 11, 200520 yr I will try and get a flight in later tonight. Its always does this regardless of the weather. Unless the weather has not changed down there in the last few months. I really appreciate the help and I will get in some flights later and see if I can figure out whats going on.
November 11, 200520 yr Hi,Might want to double check to see if you are in Online Mode. Also, feel free to post your ASV.ini file.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
