Problem with the Keys? KEYW

Featured Replies

Hi,anybody else having weather wierdness around Key West?Seems every flight heading in from the North, about 20 or so miles out the vis goes really down. Basically thick haze although atis reports max vis. Then as I turn base onto rnway 9, the vis instantly clears. Most times it stays clear, sometimes it drops out but turning south again, the haze always jumps right back in.Ive occasionally noticed this kind of behavior but it seems to be everytime around the Keys.Latest ver, using FE DXT3 textures.

Im not sure what you are asking? No matter what the weather is when I approach KEYW,approx 5 miles out, the thick haze pops in dropping vis down to like 3 miles at best. A turn north and it instantly clears up.

Hi,OK not a problem:1. When this happens for you what is the closest weather station?2. What does that station's METAR read?3. I just found the opposite: KEYW was clear as it should be and North of the airport was haze just as it should be.4. Are you using FS9 Haze and Fog in ASV?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

I will try and get a flight in later tonight. Its always does this regardless of the weather. Unless the weather has not changed down there in the last few months. I really appreciate the help and I will get in some flights later and see if I can figure out whats going on.
