Image tool placement?

Featured Replies

I have installed the image too which I will use to modify cloud structure in ASE.But every time I try to use this procedure..eg click on enable mip maps or enable DXT, a message box indicates the image tool can not be located and tells me to install it in ASV active environment folder.I checked and it is there ! Is image tool suppose to launch from this area? Also, what is the 'right setting' one would use so that AS uses the WX information it recieves to send to FS9? Random or other.I always assumed random was the choice for getting the real wx and cloude effects???Mike

Hi Mike,Sorry you are having a problem. A few things to check:1. It should just be the ImageTool.exe file that you are using. Sometimes users download and place the whole SDK in the folder.2. No, ImageTool should be run by clicking on the buttons in AE.3. That random option does not affect your weather information, only the way textures are handled upon starting ASVE. With one of the random options on, ASVE will submit random textures into FS04 before you start FS04. This provides a different "feel" each time you fly. Some users, like me, want that randomness each time we fly. Others have their favorite texture combinations and don't use the random feature. Either way will give you real weather and cloud effects. Please let us know about the ImageTool issue!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
