December 19, 200520 yr Using AS for some time now and never had a problem. I recently installed another HDD and moved FS2004 and AS to the new drive. Since then I can install the full AS2004.5 but after that I can't install the updates.First I uninstalled AS, cleaned all reference to ActiveSky from the registry and installed again. Trying to install AS20045-Update2 I keep getting the error code 1714 - The older version of AS2004.5 Update cannot be removed. I have tried using Registry Cleaner and deleting all reference to ActiveSky from the registry again but get the same problem. What worries me is if I buy the later version, will I have the same problem installing.Any help appreciated please.RayEdit: I also tried using the Windows Install cleanup and reinstalling AS.
December 19, 200520 yr Hi Ray,What is the Build number of the AS2004.5 you are running now? If it is B193, then that is the latest version of AS2004.5. If you are trying to install ASVE, then please send me your purchase information to [email protected]!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
December 19, 200520 yr The AS version that installs is 1.5.0.1471 but I can't install the other two updates Jim.I am afraid to purchase ASVE in case I have the same install problem with the message unable to uninstall previous version as happens when I try to update AS2004.5RayEdit: I just downloaded version B193 and tried to install that over the version I have and get the message - The configuration data for this product is corrupt.
December 19, 200520 yr I just installed the Maintainence update as2k4updateMR1.zip and that installed fine. I tried the B193 update and it failed with the corrupt message again.Ray
December 19, 200520 yr I bought the upgrade version of ASVE and am downloading it now Jim. It's a very slow d/l (45kb/sec) but will let you know how I get on when it comes to installing it.Ray
December 19, 200520 yr ASVE installed perfectly Jim (build367) so presumably I can uninstall AS2004.5 now?Ray
December 19, 200520 yr Hi Ray,Yes you can, but some common files may be removed. The fix is to run your Full install of ASVE and choose Repair. The missing files will be replaced and you should be good to go!Thanks for the purchase!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
