Making sure I have my settings right

Featured Replies

Just recently downloaded and installed the ASv6 upgrade. So far I have been pretty happy with the results.Just wanted to make sure my ASG settings were right though: basically I want AS to select the best cloud/sky/whatever textures based on the current weather. To accomplish this, I need to load the "Wx-influenced" theme right?A question- how does it work? For example- here is my current flight setup workflow:Start ASV, load pre-downloaded weather file.Import route into ASV and process WxStart FS, select all my options (aircraft, fuel, time of day, flight plan, etc)Begin FS flight (note AS is still "paused" at this point)once FS flight loads, switch to ASV and hit refreshAfter refresh complete, refresh AI (seems like ASv6 doesn't always refresh AI on initial Wx load, despite the correct option being checked in the options page...?)Anyways according to this workflow, will the sky and cloud textures used be selected based on the last weather update of the PREVIOUS flight I took? Since putting in new sky/cloud textures after FS has booted won't take effect until the sim is restarted? So is there a change in configuration I need to make, or a change in my workflow? (Perhaps "refreshing" ASv6 weather prior to FS9 weather boot?)ThanksRuahrcP.S. Does ASG change the bitmap used for taxi/landing lights? I had previously installed add-on textures that altered this bitmap to be darker, and now I feel that my taxi/landing lights have become really bright again.P.P.S. Also, does ASG change the textures for nighttime? I had installed another add-on (actually the same add-on from above: FS Night Time) that replaced the default night textures with dark ones that accurately reflected the darkness at night. It also modified (I think it's encoded in the night texture) the amount of illumination the aircraft model recieves. Again I think my aircraft model is brighter now than it was before. Did ASG alter these files, and are there ASG options to get realistic nighttimes like I had with FS Night Time?

Hi,1. In ASv6 under Graphics check the Auto Submit box and choose Wx influenced for your Themes.2. Save and exit.3. Import Route. New textures should be submitted to FS.4. Start FS04. Do all your stuff.5. Refresh AS and AI.Yes.No.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg

Thanks! I will try that on today's flight and see how it works out.Ruahrc
