February 1, 200620 yr Hi,I will try & explain this the best I can so bare with me.I have installed AS6 with SU2 installed.I set up a flight from EGNT with online updates at evey 10 mins.Here is the metar : EGNT 012220Z 00000KT 6000 BKN013 01/M01 Q1022Decoded: Wind: 000 True, 0 KtsVis: 5995 Meters, 4 SMClouds: 1300 BrokenPrecip: NoneTemp: 1C Dew: -1CPressure: 1022.00 mb, 30.18 inchesNow when I was at EGNT at the runway it loaded up as the above, nice broken clouds & blue sky, it looked great. Now, after about 30 seconds just as i was taking off this was replaced with a complete grey covered sky. Why does this keep happening? Why is the weather been installed as the metar & then within a very short time all I get is completely grey covered skys?my config settings below://ASv6 configuration file Build 464[General]WindowPosX = 495WindowPosY = 495DefaultWeatherFolder = C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9ModulesASv6SuppressionCeiling = 10000SurfaceWindLimit = 10FS9Path = C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9PersonalAppDataFolder = C:Documents and SettingsMike AllenApplication DataCloudLayerLimit = 5LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 59LastPlanFolder = NONEAutoVasFrequency = 30AutoVasStrength = 30TurbulenceFrequency = 100DefaultStartupLocation = EGNTDefaultGraphicsFullTheme = Wx-InfluencedDefaultGraphicsCirrusTheme = Wx-InfluencedAutoSubmitGraphicsTheme = TrueIncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForcePrimaryServer = FalseForceSecondaryServer = FalseFavorCumulus = FalseForceRoutePressure = FalseForceLowestCeiling = FalseUnpauseOnReadyStatus = FalseForceTstormsWithCB = FalseAutoSetFSTime = TrueIgnoreFSLocationUntilReady = TrueAutoConvertPlanFiles = TrueAutoRefreshAI = TrueDisableVisGraduation = FalseForceRouteAloftTemp = FalseOfflinePlayback = FalseEnableVAS = TrueAutoGenVAS = TrueForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = TrueOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseDisableAllGroundUpdates = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseDepictFS9HazeLayer = FalseExtendTstormLayers = FalseDisableDirectWindControl = FalseVoicePlayback = FalseLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = FalseDisableGroundUpdates = FalseUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = FalseUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueIgnoreFSReadyStatus = TrueFSUIPCWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueRainWithTS = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = TrueAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = 0AloftPredictability = 100WindDriftRate = 0MaxCloudThickness = 10000MinStratusSeparation = 7000TAFProcessing = FalseEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = FalseStartPaused = FalseUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONEOne other thing. I had ASV installed but once I downloaded & installed AS6 I removed ASV from the add & remove programs, I take it this is correct to do this. I have also noticed within the fs9/modules folder I have an ASV folder & an ASv6 folder, is it ok to delete the ASV folder?Sorry for the long postthanksMike Allen
February 2, 200620 yr Hi Mike,Don't worry about the long post. We like it, when users post as much information as possible. My cable connection can handle the load! This one is pretty easy because of one line in the METAR: the visibility. In your example it was 4 miles and guess what FS04 uses to control ALL visibility? Yep, low level grey-white soup. This explains why and the work around, if you like, is to set the minimum visibility to a high enough value for your taste. Maybe start with 10 and increase it. If you do this, remember to re-start ASv6 and FS04 to properly re-set things.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
February 2, 200620 yr Hi & thanksHope this is not a dumb question, but do i change the visibilty setting in ASv6 or FS9? I tried setting the visibilty in fs9 under customized weather, it was at unlimited but set it to 10 as you say but I still got the same grey soup sky.Is it a setting in ASv6?Also, what about my other question at the bottom of my first post?thanks for your helpMike
February 2, 200620 yr Hi Mike,Don't delete the ASV folder, but it is OK to use the Add/Remove function. Some common files may be removed so just run your ASv6 install and choose Repair.Your visibility can be limited by using the options on the ASv6 Options screen, in the middle, near the top. There is a maximum visibility box and a minimum visibility box. You are going to increase the zero value.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
