February 3, 200620 yr Hi, I'm relatively new to FS9 and I just got ASV6 + ASG and have been in the process of setting up options, etc. A few issues/questions came up and I tried searching but didn't find answers to my questions (specifically, anyway).(1) AS6 will open from desktop icon, but ASG gives me an error saying that v1.1.4322mscorwks.dll can't be loaded. I'm pretty sure I have the most current .NET Framework version (1.1), but I'm not sure about this initialization error and what it means. It probably doesn't matter a whole lot since I have auto-submit graphics set up throug AS;(2) After downloading weather, etc., via AS and then firing up FS9 to set up a flight, what do I do about the weather options in FS9 (same option point as where I supposed to pick a plane and start up destination)? Right now it's set to custom weather, but I don't know if I'm supposed to set it to something else like the option to use real weather downloaded from Jeppesen...do I just ignore this set up altogether and proceed to "fly now" after setting start up location? Does ASV6 simply override this?(3) When FS9 is running, is there a way to open up the AS interface that's hidden from view (not sure what short-cut key to use for this). I usually "hide" the interface, but am not sure how to find it again once FS9 is running. Pressing alt + F12 just brings up the active radar which isn't what I want;(4)When using the AS interface I went to import a PMDG flight plan, but after opening up the PMDG flight plan folder, it's empty, although there's supposed to be about 300 flight plans in there. Not sure why those .pln files aren't showing up to select one. Is there a better way to set up for a flight plan? (still not sure how to save a flight plan after entering it into PMDG's FMC so that I can select/import it in the future);I took my first flight using ASV6 and enjoyed it. Thanks for it. Sorry about being a noob with FS9 and ASV6 (and with PMDG) all at the same time. I'll keep searching through the threads/posts to see what might answer my present and future questions.Cheers,Dr. Foo
February 3, 200620 yr Hello and Welcome,1. Looks like your .NET is not installed correctly. Uninstall, reboot, and install the latest version, version 2.0.2. That should be set to User Defined and all weather downloads should be Off in FS04.3. No, not from within FS04. You need to Alt/Tab out of FS04 to see AS. There are two other options use the text bar messages and/or use FlightWatch, the spoken weather feature.4. Plans must be in the native .pln format to be able to be imported.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
February 3, 200620 yr Thanks, Jim.I actually updated to .NET version 2.0 and was able to open ASG from the desktop. Interestingly, when it opens, it flickers a bit, then settles down.I'll set the weather option to "user defined" and find out where to turn the downloads to "off".I'll try the Alt/Tab feature, but I'm not familiar with "flightwatch"; that's within FS9?So those PMDG flight plans aren't in native .pln then? Is there a trick to getting them copied and converted so AS can see them? I'd like to get FSbuild (flight planner) because I've heard that it will save/export to FS9 in .pln format. I suppose it does something different for saving as a PMDG flight plan, but then how do I access that flight plan so that AS can process it?Thanks for your kind help. AS/ASG will sure enhance my flight simming experience!!Cheers,Dr. Foo>Hello and Welcome,>>1. Looks like your .NET is not installed correctly. February 3, 200620 yr Hi,FlightWatch is part of AS. You tune a Comm radio to 122.00 and you will get voice information. There is an option in AS to click On, also.Load the plan in FS04, resave it, and then AS will be able to open it.Yes, FSB is one way to go. It will read the weather data from AS and also export in .pln form for import into AS.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
