February 7, 200620 yr This is related to the "no overcast showing when above it" thread, but I figured it would be better to start a new thread than to hijack that one.Anyway, I've noticed that on shorter flights, around 100 nm or less, there are no clouds at all over the destination airport. I've downloaded an archive weather file, am offline, and have TAF processing disabled. After I download weather and process a flight plan, the destination weather will show correctly in the flight log. Upon arriving at the destination though, the ATIS always reports "clear below 12,000". Other weather - wind, visibility, altimeter - are consistent with the original download and the flight plan log. If I pause FS and do a manual refresh in AS6, the clouds usually pop into view.In the "no overcast showing" thread, Jim mentioned something about shorter flights, 80 miles or less. I'm just wondering how shorter flights relate to this disappearing cloud issue, and what settings affect it. I'd assumed that local suppression settings would not matter since my weather won't be changing during the flight (off-line and no TAF processing), but that may not be a good assumption.Dan
February 7, 200620 yr Hi Dan,The other user was forcing his destination weather and this happens at about 80 miles.Let's post your ASv6.ini file and I'll take a look!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg

February 8, 200620 yr Hi,After you refresh to start ASv6, try and manually Refresh AI. This may clear up the ATIS report. If you fly low and slow you may need to lower your Supression Ceiling to 4000 or 3000.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
