February 16, 200620 yr Caveat: Superb product...very close to reality...light years ahead of FS weather module. That said:How do I "force" AS to give me a stratus deck from 300 feet to 8000 feet with no breaks from let's say Cleveland (KCLE) to Wash DC (DCA)?It seems even with overcast enhancement (I read and applied Jim Skorna's Realistic Weather Settings advice), 5 layers selected, auto submit/wx influenced I can't replicate a complete scud deck of stratus other than the immediate reporting stations, in this case, CLE and DCA.With auto-submit/Wx influenced selected, it appears I get some spurious clouds that are not on the METAR for a selected station. For instance, I may get several different types of patchy stratus along with some goofy puffs of cumulus appearing like flak showing up above the stratus at FLs above 180 (which in the winter is highly unlikely). If the real weather is indeed calling a solid deck from CLE to DCA (i.e., you won't see the ground the entire flight), how can I assure that is replicated in AS?What settings would the experts use? Thanks in advanceKemo F15
February 16, 200620 yr Hi,Me again and welcome!Settings:Cumulus vs Stratus OffForce lowest ceiling OffIf the reporting stations do not have the same data then the patterns will change. For solid, the OVC code must be there. Also, the reporting station has a very small radius of exact representation. After that, a blending of station data is used.If you want this for sure you can use the Wx Configurator and create the conditions and then apply them to all weather stations.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
