February 17, 200620 yr Thanks for your quick reply...I did as you suggested to get a solid scud deck: wx configurator and select low overcast option. I applied it to all weather stations. I took off from KDCA climbed to 12000ft. pretty solid until 50nm north and I was getting patchy clearing directly over BWI. I was also getting those pop-up cumulus at 16000 feet (see attached pic). I made sure I had Cumulus over stratus not selected etc. I was curious what stratus separation provides in the options page...I currently have mine at 7000 (I believe that is the default value). Thanks in advanceKemoF15
February 17, 200620 yr Hi,Please post your ASv6.ini for your settings. Some have found that directly over a station clouds are thin or even none.7000 is a good value. It sets the separation of stratus layers. What is your FSP locked at?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
February 17, 200620 yr Although you recommended 20-30FPS, I set mine to 45FPS and can get that most of the time. I played with the wx configurator settings and adjusted the METAR and got a very good result on a flight from KDCA to KLGA...hard stratus scud deck with several layers (take a look at attachment). I'm in between decks at 9000 feet on my way to FL240 with a local time of about 1750. Deck had very few breaks. Point is (and you've made it many times)settings are system and individual dependent. I took a look at some of my old FS weather shots and there is absolutely no comparison. AS is superb!!!Appreciate your support. KemoF15
