Ok, I did read the FAQ's and did what was instructed, I'm pretty convinced that this CTD problem is caused by AS6.I had this problem awhile ago. I'm honestly not sure if I was running AS6.0 - 6.1 - 6.2, I honestly don't remember. I never thought the inital problem was related to AS, but now I think it was. Anyway after the first incident I cleaned up my drives, did alot of maintinece... uninstalled alot of junk that I wasn't using anymore and reinstalled FS and my other addons. Mind you, this was no easy process, and I'm not looking forward to doing this again, hance why I'm posting. Anyway, I downloaded and reinstalled AS6.1 from the website, no problems at all. Was able to make many flights over 3hrs... no CTD's or framrate issues. Now comes AS6.3... I'm not sure if the problem started right after I installed the update, but not very long afterwards the CTD's came back furiously! Mind you, with the exception of a few repaints that I added, I haven't changed or otherwise altered my system settings. Now... here's what happend today... one flight into Anchorage AK, about 3hrs into the flight... boom FS locks up, this was a freeware airplane (read... VERY easy on system), no great scenery addon's were used... and it was pretty heavy weather. So I figured I just needed to defrag my drive or something. So a defrag of D (FS is on) and C drive, plus a "Disk clean up" on C drive. Ok... now time to make a flight over to KPVD, no problem... hahaha right! As I descened into PVD... BOOM CTD! ok... fine... this was a payware airplane... so I removed the VC and other things thinking the scenery and everything was too much for it (despite having a pretty mosterous system). No niceties now... so nothing to bog the system down. I start AS6, start FS... start going through my preflight checks on the ground at PVD... before i can even start the engines... CTD! So with that I have had it. I went to the forums... saw the FAQ about CTD's and then flew the flight with the same aircraft and FS's weather back to KPIT. Now mind you, my route back included the Flight Scenery KPVD and Aerosofts Manhattan loading as I flew over KJFK, wich I stayed north of on the first flight with the CTD near PVD, I can guarentee you that Aerosofts Manhatten never loaded. So now I've successfully made the filght without FS crasing. AS was not running. Now that I think back, every flight that I had made previously and AS wasn't running I never had a problem with a CTD (to and inlcuding a 7hr real time flight from KEWR to EDDF... in the PMDG 747). I've exierenced these CTD's with NUMEROUS aircraft and numerious scenery... even default scenery! There is something going on here... any help would be greatly appreciated!Thanks for your timeSteve
