ActiveSky 2004.5 vs v6

Featured Replies

Hello :-wave,currently I am still using ActiveSky 2004.5 and I am thinking of upgrading to version 6 but I am not sure if it's really the correct decision to purchase version 6.My main interest is to get the actual weather data for the area I am flying in and to plan my flights. I can perfectly live without the new changable cloud and sky textures which come with version 6, so my main question is, is it worth to pay the price, which isn't rather cheap for me, only to get the current weather data and simulation?Or to be more precise are there any major changes in the weather simulation between 2004.5 and v6, which would justify purchasing it?Thanks in advance and to Hifisim for their great product!Christianhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/chrismo/sigsky.jpgVacation: wasted time between 2 flights!

Hi,1. The weather engine has been refined since then.2. There are many new weather options.3. The planner has been improved. For example, winds aloft at each waypoint.4. More weather stations added.5. Hourly archived weather. The final decision has to be up to you!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg

Hello Jim,thank you very much for your kind and prompt answer. The new version sounds very exciting, right now it's more question of what my wallet allows :-(.Thanks!Christianhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/chrismo/sigsky.jpgVacation: wasted time between 2 flights!
