April 4, 200620 yr Hello FS Captains and ASV6 users.I am having some difficulty with the settings of Auto Vas Frequency and Strenght in ASV6. When airbourne, I often see in ASV interface that VAS points are set. These settings mostly change the whole appearence of the weather in FS9 ( from cloudy to CAVOK for example). Could anyone explain the most realistic or useful settings of these two features, please ?And if you don't mind, then please use "easy words", because my english is not very good !Thanks a lot !
April 4, 200620 yr Hi Frank,VAS settings should not be changing how the weather looks in FS04.Are you using Local Suppression?VAS means Vertical Air Simulation, the up and down movement of air while in flight. The frequency value stands for how often a VAS point will be generated. The VAS Strength stands for how strong the air movements will be.Many find 30-30 to be good. It gives planes a slight up and down movement when generated.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
April 4, 200620 yr Hey Jim,So one point is clear now. VAS should not change the weather in FS9 at all. But what's about local suppression ? Should it be used or not ? As I wrote in my initial post, yesterday, when I was flying form Madrid to Tenerife, the weather changed more than once, and that in a way, I cannot find an explanation. From cloudy to cavok, without any clouds, and after a few moments it switched back to cloudy. Does this behaviour belong to local suppression ?Thanks again !
April 4, 200620 yr Hi,Yes it is, and it should be turned On. Did you have this Off until now?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
