April 8, 200620 yr I am a new Active Sky user and it seems to be working well for me. I have Active Sky along with Radar Contact installed in an outboard laptop connected via WideFS and FSUIPC. I like the idea of flying with the real weather. Most of my available time to fly comes during the day and I miss flying at night. My question concerns downloading historical weather. If I download last nights weather -- is it just a snapshot of the weather at a point in time or will it give the real weather over a period of time?RegardsDave
April 8, 200620 yr Hi and Welcome!METARs, by their nature, are a snapsot of the weather conditions at the time of the METAR.METARs are usually updated once an hour, near the top of the hour and then it takes a bit for the servers to gather the data and process it.When using the archive feature you will get worldwide weather based on a one hour period. If your flight is going to be more than one hour, then download consecutive archived files and use the Enable Offline Sequence Playback option. Then, the weather for your flight will be the same as if you had flown it at the actual time.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
