ActiveRadar won't work

Featured Replies

Hi gang, I am using ASV6, build 470 on a WideFS computer. I went through procedure for installing Active Radar through the activeradarconnector program via a mapped network drive from my FS9 computer. ASV6 works flawlessly otherwise. I have reinstalled activeconnector three or four times now. It responds and verifies the installation each time. Active Radar then works for one flight then never after that. It is as if it disconnects itself from my wideFS computer and only receives wind data. No weather data is transfered into arrival, departure or enroute airport boxes, nor any data into "planning" areas. I have shared each folder required on both machines all with write permissions. I am able to acquire the flight plan, but that is all. I have not updated to service pack 4 Here is my INI file://ASv6 configuration file Build 441[General]WindowPosX = 3765WindowPosY = 2025DefaultWeatherFolder = C:BaseFolderModulesASv6SuppressionCeiling = 10000SurfaceWindLimit = 10FS9Path = Randyp4extremeFLIGHTSIM(E)FS2004PersonalAppDataFolder = Randyp4extremeApplication DataCloudLayerLimit = 5LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 1MaximumVisibility = 50AutoVasFrequency = 30AutoVasStrength = 30TurbulenceFrequency = DefaultStartupLocation = KSEADefaultGraphicsFullTheme = Wx-InfluencedDefaultGraphicsCirrusTheme = Wx-InfluencedAutoSubmitGraphicsTheme = TrueIncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForcePrimaryServer = FalseForceSecondaryServer = FalseFavorCumulus = FalseForceRoutePressure = TrueForceLowestCeiling = TrueUnpauseOnReadyStatus = FalseForceTstormsWithCB = TrueAutoSetFSTime = TrueIgnoreFSLocationUntilReady = TrueAutoConvertPlanFiles = TrueAutoRefreshAI = TrueDisableVisGraduation = FalseForceRouteAloftTemp = TrueOfflinePlayback = FalseEnableVAS = TrueAutoGenVAS = TrueForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = TrueOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseDisableAllGroundUpdates = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseDepictFS9HazeLayer = TrueExtendTstormLayers = TrueDisableDirectWindControl = FalseVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = TrueDisableGroundUpdates = FalseUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueIgnoreFSReadyStatus = TrueFSUIPCWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueRainWithTS = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = TrueAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = -8AloftPredictability = 100WindDriftRate = 0MaxCloudThickness = 10000MinStratusSeparation = 7000TAFProcessing = TrueEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = FalseStartPaused = FalseUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONELastPlanFolder = Randyp4extremeDocuments and SettingsRandyMy DocumentsFlight Simulator FilesThanks for your help in advance !Randy Jura, KPDX

Hi Randy,Let's first update to Build 470 and see what happens. Everything looks good from your .ini file.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

I think the problem is resolved. Althought I did update to Build 487? or was it 485 via the beta4, I dont think that had anything to do with it. I have been disabling Windows XP programs and services of some amount through msconfig, similar to what Ken Salter's program AutoFsStart does. Anyway, some obscure network driver was apparently disabled in the process that somehow or other blocked the data transmission from my WideFS computer to the FS9 computer. At any rate, I made some adjustments in my setup and it seems that ActiveRadar now works properly. Anyways, thanks for the fast response nonethelessRandy Jura, KPDX
