May 26, 200620 yr Hi,First I want to say that av6 is a wonderful program and I love the effects it creates. I purchased it yesterday and installed it. Every time I use it about halfway through the flight (sometimes on approach) AS6 and FS9 freezes. So I try to end the programs and both say "no response". I wondering what the problem here is and possible remedies for it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,Grant
May 27, 200620 yr Hi,Sorry you are having a problem.Suggestions:1. Check video drivers.2. Check for AFCADs that may be bad or duplicated.3. In FS04 set Render to Texture the opposite way it is set now.Any error messages?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
May 27, 200620 yr To start with, I dont know a lot about computers. Im not sure how to do those things. Im not getting any error messages though. I might need a more detailed explanation to be able to fix it. Sorry for any inconvenience. Thanks,Grant
May 27, 200620 yr Hi Grant,Besides ASv6 have you added anything else to your FS04?What are your computer details? If you do not run ASv6 does FS04 still freeze? For Render to Texture: Start a flight and then press Alt/O/E/D and then click on the Hardware tab. There you will find a box for that option. If there is a check, uncheck it, no check, place a check.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
May 27, 200620 yr Hi,The only things that I have added are a couple of freeware aircraft. My system is as follows: Intel Pentium M 1.60 ghz processor NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 64MB 512 MB RAMMy fs9 does freeze but very rarely. It seems to freeze everytime I run it with AS6.
May 27, 200620 yr Hi Grant,You are really pushing your computer to it's maximum. I am going to suggest that you reduce your settings in FS04 as much as possible. Also, are you using some of our lower resolution clouds? It also may be that your computer is overheating. The easiest way to see this is run with the cover off for awhile.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
May 27, 200620 yr Hi,I'll set the fs9 settings lower to try and help the issueI had also been thinking of getting more RAM (1g). Do you think that would be sufficient to help the problem?thanks,Grant
May 28, 200620 yr Hi,No, I wouldn't even try that. At Pricewatch.com your processor is selling for $25 and your video card is selling for $26. You are way better off saving until you can afford to upgrade. I am not saying any of this to be mean, I just don't want you to waste your money.I would really try to use our low resolution clouds through ASG.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
