Weather Problem

Featured Replies

Hi,Lately FS has been freezing and just hangs, which forces me to reboot my system. Using trial and error I've found that if I clear all weather and have absolutely no weather FS does not hang. To help combat this I bought Activesky 6 as I thought it would improve performance over the default, but I am still having problems with my system just freezing after 10 mins or so of flying with weather. As I say it has only been happening for the last month or so and I can't think of anything I have installed that would have caused this. Can anyone help me? Any suggestions?ThanksSteve

Hi Steve,Try setting Render to Texture the opposite it set to now.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

Hi Jim,Thanks for the reply.....I unticked the "Render to Texture" option and FS wouldn't load...it got as far as 77% loading weather and froze.Any idea why this happens? Thanks,Steve

I've solved the problem of FS not loading by changing to 32-bit clouds as with the render to texture option off you can't use DXT ones. However FS still hangs after a while....

Hi Steve,You are correct about all that: 32 Bit and RtT can be off but with DXT clouds RtT must be on or you get that.Next thing to look at are sceneries and AFCAD files that may be bad or duplicated.Any error messages? What are your system specs?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
