June 4, 200619 yr Hello, I currently have ActiveSky Build 485 & ActiveSky Graphics build 180. Q1. Am I up to speed on the updates? Q2. Under the ActiveSky Graphics Menu I have 3D Clouds, Cirrus Clouds, Sky Color and Enviroment all Weather Influenced. Does this mean that everytime the weather is updated in flight to particular area's it will even change the enviroment scheme to best suit the weather forcasted for that area? Or does Weather Influenced only effect the clouds implemented in the simulator? Q3. Under ActiveSkyv6 Options menu do I need to have under Graphics Auto-Submit checked And something chosen for Full Sky Theme & Cirrus Theme? Or after choosing everything Weather Influenced do I just hit send to FS and just check the Auto-Submit in the ASv6 Options Graphics Menu? Thanks, Josh
June 4, 200619 yr Hi,1, No, the SU4 beta is B491.2. No, we can only update the cirrus textures once FS04 is started, so those are the only textures updated when the weather is updated.3. To automatically submit ANY textures do this:A. Have Auto Submit checked on.B. In the 2 theme boxes have something filled in. If you wish to have Wx Influenced then have the Wx Influenced themes entered. If you go this way, then you do not even need to do anything you wrote about in Q2. Remember that you do need to set your route or at least your departure airport when using WX Influenced themes.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
June 4, 200619 yr Jim, Thank You Sir. I am tinkering with the ActiveSky graphics a bit and I really like the different options and textures that are available to change in FS9 it's great! I usually just let Flight Enviroment take care of it. I have just now realized that I can kinda use a combination of both which is excellent!!! I think this will be my last question :-O Let's say I want to use Flight Enviroment textures for the water and the Dawn & Dusk Textures. Would it be correct to say I go into Flight Enviroment and set whatever textures I want to use from Flight Enviroment then write the textures close it. Then go to ActiveSky Graphics go thru the detail list and check off the Dawn & Dusk textures so ActiveSky Graphics will not effect the last textures written which would be Flight Enviroment setting's such as Dawn & Dusk sun effects etc. And that will be untouched from ActiveSky? Now Since ActiveSky only changes cirrus cloud schemes on the fly with weather influence activated then I could actually still use Flight Enviroments let's say stratus clouds? As long as when I go thru the detail list and I tell ActiveSky Graphics to write to fs just be sure I have them textures unchecked so it ignores the writes on them particular clouds and I could still yet have ActiveSky weather influence my cirrus clouds with ActiveSky's cirrus cloud textures? Eeek's My brain is started to get into a knot (LOL) trying to get creative here. Let me try to get to my point "whatever that is" (LOL). Ok say I would like to keep FlightEnviroments Dawn & Dusk settings and use ActiveSky's Fixed Polluted C-Day set 24. So I setup what I want to use through Flight Enviroment write it close forget. ActiveSky's stuff go thru detail list un-check things I do not want it to overwrite that Flight Enviroment wrote. Write to FS9 Close ActiveSky Graphics. Now Under options in ActiveSky Graphics box I check Auto-Submit now under Cirrus theme i put weather influenced and full Sky theme same? Please excuse me if this look's like i just put it into a blender I think my mind is started to get blended and spun in the options I have available here. And I must say in ActiveSky's Graphics setup with being able to check and uncheck things clean on down to the Runway lights that you want it to write to and or leave alone if I am correct. That is very creative of you and the ActiveSky team. And I think that is just excellent!!! Thanks, JoshP.S. Sorry if this e-mail is confusing got wife and barking dog's about to drive me to the airport and see If I just can hitch hike a real flight to another town for a couple of hours (Grin)
June 5, 200619 yr Hi Josh,Glad you are enjoying the tinkering! Yes, you can mix and match things from FE and ASG. You are using the check list correctly and your procedure is fine.If you are going to use wx Influenced, then just put in the Cirrus Theme the wx-Influenced theme and leave the Full Sky Theme blank. That way no FE textures are going to get over-written.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
