June 12, 200619 yr I am curious where asv get its cloud data from. I was flying today and looking at the visible satallite from noaa, the enite state of florida and half of georgia was covered in clouds. With asv there were waaay to many clear spots, 100's of miles wide. I also notice that their are not enough high clouds, especially the kind that extend from thunder cloud tops. Also from noaa, their were reported clouds from FL310-370 and in the sim it was all clear with very smooth air.
June 13, 200619 yr Hi,From the METAR data. Are you using Online Updates? For taller thunder clouds is Extend T'Storm Layers On?Are you limiting your cloud layers?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
June 13, 200619 yr Hi,Thanks for that!I wonder what the actual METARS were showing? If it wasn't OVC then no way for a solid deck of clouds. Are you forcing the lowest layer?Better yet: please post your ASv6.ini file and I'll be happy to take a look, probably in the morning!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

June 14, 200619 yr Hi,Lower your suppression ceiling. At 90000 you are never getting updates. Jets should be at 10000. Low and slow 4000 or less.Increase local suppression range to 50 to 100Cumulus Vs Stratus should be Off.Put minumum stratus separation back at 7000Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
