July 13, 200619 yr Hi guys, I've never had any problems when using AS6 up until tonight. I tried to open up AS6 but ran into an error when it was loading the program. It'll give me this error "Initialization error reading files (Error Step 9). Please verify your files and reinstall." I tried to reinstall AS6 but it only returned with the same results. Not sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
July 13, 200619 yr Hi,It may be that your Windows registry is messed up a bit.1. Uninstall everything from HiFi.2. Download and run this:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...Ben-us%3B2903013. Then try a reinstall. Please let us know how you are doing with this.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://dot.kelder.net:8080/fseconomy/
July 13, 200619 yr Thanks for the help Jim. I've tried what you suggested but it still will give me that error on reinstall. Let me make sure I'm doing things correctly. I uninstalled AS6 from the windows control panel. Then I installed the microsoft file you referred me to and ran it. I removed AS 6 from that program. After that I uninstalled the main AS6 program file and tried to run without the SU4. Same problem.
July 13, 200619 yr Hi,Try this:Unstall from the Control PanelRun the program and find anything from HiFi.Reinstall AND reinstall SU4.Then lets see. One more thing, try with all anti-virus off.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://dot.kelder.net:8080/fseconomy/
July 13, 200619 yr No go Jim. Tried w/ SU4 and anti-virus off.I'm not sure how this happened. I used it the other night, and I never remember installing any other programs or deleting them that could of caused me to delete a file AS6 needed. The AS Graphics program is able to open though. Not sure if that makes a difference.
July 14, 200619 yr Oh boy, how all systems are different. Jim, everything is back to normal. For some reason, my FS folder turned into "read-only" status which probably affected AS6, wouldn't allow it to access a file. I unchecked the read only box and everything is back to normal. Thanks for the help Jim!
July 14, 200619 yr Wow,Yes that would do it. I had just never seen that error before. Glad you got it!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://dot.kelder.net:8080/fseconomy/
